Blackpool As A Stage

Blackpool is often used as a location for film and television work. We're delighted to welcome so many large-scale productions to the Fylde coast to showcase our fantastic architecture and iconic views. Here are some of the high-profile productions that have been filmed in Blackpool recently!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Tim Burton’s film features the iconic Blackpool Tower (and a Hollywood style recreation of snow on the prom in May!) was released in 2016. This film, based on a book by Ransom Riggs, is dark fantasy telling the tale of a 16-year-old boy named Jacob Portman who accidentally encounters a group of peculiar orphaned children at Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Away

Starring showbiz great Timothy Spall and Dark Knight Rises actress Juno Temple, Away's two lead characters cross paths in Blackpool, and this feature film examines their complex relationship in a "story of love, of loss, and of hope played out against the magical backdrop of Blackpool".

Phantom Thread

Can you spot the stunning Blackpool Tower Ballroom in the trailer for Phantom Thread? Starring the formidable Daniel Day-Lewis and to be released on 2nd February, we cannot wait to see this fantastic film!
