The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse celebrate WBD

Every year children across the UKwill get dressed up in their favourite characters from their favourite story books.

This year, The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse are calling for fans of The Gruffalo, Zog, Princess Pearl, Room on The Broom, and all other characters from the stories of Julia Donaldson to share their world book day memories for a chance to win free entry to the attraction on the Blackpool seafront.

From a playground picture featuring a Gruffalo costume, to a party picture dressed as Princess Pearl. Share your images via The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse Facebook page and your next adventure may be a page turn away.

Juila Donaldson CBE, Writer, and playwright said: “Reading is one of life’s greatest pleasures, reading for pleasure has been shown, to be the one factor that benefits children more than anything else. Reading develops imagination and helps you to understand the world around you, it’s just great in so many ways.”

Commenting on the pleasure of reading, Julia added: “Reading together is also so important, even when a child can read for themselves, it’s nice to snuggle up and share a story, you can put on funny voices, and you’ll be the best actor out there as far as your child is concerned”.  
 
The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse is an enchanting 3D world which brings to life popular characters from The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, Zog, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom and The Highway Rat.
A world first, the new Blackpool attraction is unlike anything experienced before and perfect for families with children under the age of 10, who can run wild and immerse themselves in their favourite stories.

It has six different zones dedicated to each book, Deep Dark Woods Adventure Play and Soft Play, Room on the Broom Toddler Play, The Gruffalo’s Child Sensory Room, Zog’s Dragon School Challenge, Snail and the Whale Seaside Play and a Meet and Greet area.

The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse joins Merlin’s other attractions in Blackpool including The Blackpool Tower, SEA LIFE Blackpool, Madame Tussauds Blackpool and Peter Rabbit™: Explore and Play.
