Eat Outdoors in Blackpool

Whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, a summertime tipple or a much-needed get together with friends and family, we have rounded up some great outdoor dining spots in and around Blackpool for you to enjoy. As always, we recommend booking ahead where possible to avoid disappointment.

The Velvet Coaster 

Located 150m away from Blackpool South Pier, The Velvet Coaster is one of the largest pubs in Blackpool with outdoor seating on all three levels. On the first floor you’ll find a beautiful balcony and, even better, on the top floor there’s an impressive rooftop terrace ideal for soaking up some vitamin D.  

Named after the 89-year-old wooden rollercoaster which is now referred to as Nickelodeon Streak at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, The Velvet Coaster is in an ideal location after an exhilarating day out at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool South Pier or a relaxing day catching the rays at South Beach.

Central Pier’s Terrace Bar

Looking for a scenic spot? Central Pier’s Terrace Bar has one of the largest outdoor seating areas in all of Blackpool. Situated at the northern side of the pier, the Terrace Bar looks out towards the beach, making it the perfect sun-trap to sit back, unwind and breathe in the sea air.

Admission is free for all ages and is accessible without entering the pier.  After your refreshing drink, walk above the waves on Central Pier and, only if you're feeling brave, take a ride on the iconic Big Wheel for a true Blackpool experience.

Spanish Steps - Promenade 

Ok, so this isn’t a pub, café or restaurant, but if there’s one place you’re guaranteed a seat, it’ll be our famous Promenade. If you haven’t visited the resort for a number of years, you will notice that Blackpool’s sea defences have been completely redesigned in a project totalling £80m. The result? Stunning Spanish-style steps leading down to the sea and spacious paths wide enough to stroll, skate or cycle to your heart’s desire.

Stretching for six miles with plenty of open space, the Promenade is the perfect place to enjoy all what Blackpool has to offer. Simply head to one of the takeaway options along the seafront, grab your fish and chips or ice cream, and sit on the Spanish steps to witness one of Blackpool’s breath-taking sunsets; it’s one of the best seats in town! As always, please make sure you dispose of your litter in one of the bins provided or take it home with you.
 

Beach House & Bistro

Directly in the heart of Blackpool, the Beach House is set in an iconic building on the beachfront with spectacular views of the Irish Sea. Nestled between The Blackpool Tower and Blackpool North Pier, it’s the perfect place for those instagrammable shots with your family and friends.

On clear, sunny days, the roof impressively retracts to offer additional outdoor seating, allowing you enjoy the sun and hear the waves gently lap the shore whilst you sip your favourite cocktail. 

Stefani’s Pizzeria 

Just a stone’s throw from Houndshill Shopping Centre, home to more than 50 stores, lies a local hidden gem in Cedar Square next to the impressive St John's church and the Winter Gardens.

Stefani’s Pizzeria is an award-winning wood-fired pizza restaurant, specialising in a signature fluffy dough, a secret recipe tomato sauce and mouth-watering toppings. They also cater for vegetarians and vegans too! With a 5-star rating on TripAdvisor, it’s more important than ever to support independent businesses, so Stefani’s ticks all the boxes for alfresco dining in the centre of Blackpool.

Ma Kelly’s Showboat

Previously Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Ma Kelly’s Showboat is a lively watering hole located at North Shore. This welcoming cabaret bar has an extensive beer garden at the front of the premises, perfect for basking in the sun with a refreshing drink.
