HIVEjacked
16 December 2020
by Visit Blackpool
This festive season the tram stops along Blackpool’s famous seafront will be taken over by several local artists, displaying their work in a unique open-air gallery.
HIVEArts are ‘Hivejacking’ the 14 stops between the South and North piers, with each shelter along the route displaying large scale works from two different artists representing a cross section of styles and imagery from 28 members of Blackpool’s artistic community.
The artists involved have previously worked and exhibited with local community arts groups HIVEArts and Arrested ReDevelopment, with huge and continuing support from HIVE café on Church Street. Building on previous successful local and national exhibitions held at HIVEBpl, and with the much-appreciated support of Blackpool Council and Blackpool Transport, this project will bring a free open-air art exhibition, with access for all, to the Promenade.
The works will be on display from Friday 18th December 2020 to Saturday 2nd January 2021 at each stop on both sides of the tracks.
Please stick to all social distancing rules in place when veiwing the art work.
