Press Coverage of Spymonkey's 'Cooped' by Drew Drake
Well . . . I was welcomed into the fabulous, outrageous and surreal world of Spymonkey last night, which is on at the Grand Theatre Blackpool until Friday, 14 June.
Entitled 'Cooped' I didn’t quite know what to expect, but what unfolded before me over two hours was comedy at its most brilliant!
I'm still reeling from the full frontal nudity, that's right folks . . . I saw it, with my own eyes! A show that has to be seen to be believed.
Amazing physical comedy, quick change artistry and a well woven tapestry of interplay from Messrs Petra Massey, Stephen Kreiss, Aitor Basauri and Toby Park - that makes for a must-see show.
It can be a challenge to keep up with the wild misadventures on stage (that's me in general these days), but that’s part of the fun - it was all hilarious from beginning to end. Funny? Tick. Daring? Tick. Clever? Tick. A really, ahem, ballsy piece of work.
The cast expended a huge amount of effort into the performance, so battle through the dire weather and go and see this troupe. They won't disappoint!
Amazing. Go see!
Spymonkey is on nightly until Friday, 14th of June, with ticket prices starting at £12.50. To book, click here.
