Blog / Theatres & Shows Review: Abigail's Party 13 March 2019 by Visit Blackpool Stage and TV star, Jodie Prenger, Coronation Street and Emmerdale favourite Vicky Binns and Daniel Casey, best known as DS Gavin Troy in Midsomer Murders, lead the cast in this ground-breaking comedy classic – Abigail’s Party! At Blackpool Grand Theatre. The Incomparable Jodie Prenger (who we’ve had the pleasure of seeing many times before on this magnificent stage) once again filled the theatre with her own unique style. Superbly backed by her husband Daniel Casey who gave a fine performance as her long suffering husband Laurence. Vicky Binns gave an excellent performance as Angela 'The new neighbour' with her husband Calum Callaghan as ex footballer Tony. All the characters were complemented with the excellent performance of Susan played by Rose Keegan whose been banished from the party of her teenage daughter Abigail. The set sent you back on a journey of nostalgia from the music of Demis Rousos to the fibre optic lamp, as did the fashion of the 1970's. There were lots of laughs in this classic British comedy from the five characters from start to finish as the respectability of the couples fades, with disastrous consequences. We loved this play from beginning to end, so don’t miss out and book your tickets now! Abigail’s Party is running until 16th March at Blackpool Grand Theatre Gerri & Gillian
