The Lady Vanishes is a must see March Mystery

A fantastic stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1938 film, The Lady Vanishes, is being performed at The Grand Theatre this week. Whether you know the story or it is mystery to you, the play is perfect for classic thriller and comedy fans alike.
From the moment the curtain raises the set will blow you away. The lighting, mist and music builds the atmosphere. The decorative details are outstanding and very well thought out, completely transforming the stage as you know it.
The scenes seamlessly transition from a bustling Nazi controlled train station to a wonderfully detailed train carriages that will have you feeling like you are part of the crew.
The train based drama tells the story of a young English socialite Iris being befriended by the kind Miss Froy after being knocked on the head at the station. After awaking from a nap in her train compartment Iris finds her companion to have mysterious vanished, but to her shock anyone who had previously met the lady now denies ever seeing her.
A knock to the head, a bumpy train ride, is Iris just confused and right to question if the elderly Miss Froy ever truly exist? Or has indeed the lady vanished?
With the help of musician Max, a story of thrills, mystery and excitement unfolds as the search to find Miss Froy is underway. Intertwined with amusing sub-plots and interactions with other questionable passengers on the train, the pair take on the challenge to find out what really happened.
The cast are true to their role and fully immerse you in the story. From comical quips due to language barriers exchanged by the two cricket obsessed men, to shock character transformations that will keep gripped and wanting more. The chemistry between Iris and Max create the perfect mix traditional British attitude and humour with their bickering and witty comments.
