Celebrate National Rollercoaster Day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and experience the brand-new £16.25m ride, ICON.
A world first, ICON loops through, underneath and around 15 other rides at the UK’s favourite amusement park, making it the most interactive rollercoaster ever built. With accelerations as fast as a Formula 1 car and soaring to heights of 88.5ft – thrill seekers are in for a real treat.
Since ICON launched at the end of May, the response from the public has been phenomenal. The ride has received rave reviews from the tens of thousands of people who have already taken up the challenge of #daretoride. Rollercoaster fans from around the world have visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach to specifically ride ICON.
Scott Bickerton, founder of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s fan club, Pleasure Beach Experience, comments, “Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s brand new roller coaster, ICON, is the perfect addition to an already excellent portfolio of roller coasters, it offers a smooth, high quality roller coaster experience bringing together a number of elements such as airtime, intensity, interactions and inversions; ICON for me is without doubt the best roller coaster in the UK.”
Boasting 10 amazing rollercoasters, there’s something for all ages and thrill seekers at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. If you have a head for heights, the UK’s tallest rollercoaster, The Big One, offers high-speed drops and breath-taking views. For those that like their world to be turned upside down, take your pick from Revolution or Infusion.
Younger thrill seekers can join in the fun down at Nickelodeon Land and meet popular show characters including SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer, as well as having a ride on Blue Flyer, a classic wooden rollercoaster design specifically for younger guests to enjoy the same thrills that older members of the family can enjoy.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is open for the season until 4th November 2018, for further details and to purchase tickets, please visit: www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com
