The Regent Cinema is to host it's first film festival 'Shorts at the Seaside' this May.
The festival will be held on the 20th May and is open to students and all film makers. There will be three categories, with the main theme of the festival being deckchair-based short films.
Festival organiser Carole Moran commented: "It's a great opportunity for film makers to see their film on the big screen, not to mention the £100.00 first prize for each category".
There are three categories;
Category 1 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged under 25 on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.
Category 2 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged 25 or over on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.
Category 3 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes. This category is open to any age range and any theme.
All categories will be shortlisted down to six and shown on the day, with a winner chosen by a panel of judges.
There will also be guest speakers from Robin Duke, Chris Hughes and Sean Conboy who will talk about their experiences and answer any questions.
The day of the event will be open to anyone to attend with free entry.
There is a small charge of £5.00 for each film entry which can be made here.
