It doesn’t seem like five minutes ago that we were at The Blackpool Tower, enjoying the main summer season circus show (ooh – that was quite a mouthful!), but it’s panto season again, and this year, the fantastic circus panto is ‘Mooky Doolittle’!
The Endresz family's Blackpool Tower Circus show has wowed audiences and delighted families for over twenty years, and when we went along to see ‘Mooky Doolittle’, it’s easy to see why!
The last weekend in November sees the start of the 2017 circus panto, and the 2017/2018 show will run until the 21st January, 2018.
Seating is unreserved, so we recommend turning up at least 30-45 minutes before the show start to bag the best seats and stock up on popcorn!
If with very young children, please be mindful that buggies cannot be taken into the circus, but there is a free buggy park near guest services where your belongings can be kept securely.
There are plenty of snacks and drinks to choose from, and there are several great deals to take advantage of in order to make savings.
The show is perfect for the whole family, even the smallest children, as there are plenty of large animal puppets, brightly-coloured costumes and fun music.
The story of Mooky Doolittle is interwoven with fabulous circus capers that left us holding our breath and biting our nails. The tightrope act was our absolute favourite, even if we watched a good deal of it behind our hands!
Mooky is the most loveable clown in the world, and his quick wit, great audience interaction and fantastic circus skills are what keep most of the audience coming back for more. Mooky and his brother Mr Boo are a fantastic double act, and the laughs just keep coming with their slapstick antics and their often times inability to keep a straight face.
In particular, we thought that Yvette had a fantastic voice, the characters performing as animals did a brilliant job and it is well-paced enough to keep little ones engaged.
Mooky Doolittle is two hours in length, as well an interval of about 20 minutes.
