Showtown Now Bookable 15 December 2023 by Visit Blackpool With less than four months to go until Showtown: the museum of fun and entertainment opens its doors to the public, tickets are now officially on sale, with good news for Blackpool residents who could get their hands on a ticket for free! Showtown, will officially open in March and will bring a world class interactive museum for all the family to enjoy, celebrating the seaside, circus, magic, show, dance and Blackpool’s world-famous illuminations over a series of six interactive exhibitions. Visitors will also have a chance to get up close and personal with the entertainers who helped put Blackpool on the map, including the comedians, dancers, acrobats and characters who helped turn the resort into the home of show business. Available now from the official Showtown website, tickets cost £15 for adults and £11.50 for children, and with tickets being valid for a whole year, visitors are welcome to return as many times as they like! Discounted tickets are also available for students, and seniors and carers can go free. If you are a Blackpool resident who pays your council tax to Blackpool Council you will also be able to get your hands on a free ticket, giving you and your family full access to the museum’s exhibitions and events, as well as family-friendly facilities. Showtown will also offer free trips for local schools surrounding the attraction, as part of its wider education and engagement programmes. Chief Executive, Liz Moss said: “We’re incredibly excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for Blackpool’s Showtown Museum as we draw one step closer to our official opening date in March. “Showtown promises to be a fun experience for all the family and there is something for all ages to explore and enjoy, with lots of things which will surprise and delight people who don’t know much about Blackpool, as well as those who think they do! “The team here have created an incredible, interactive celebration of Blackpool and the fun and entertainment that made it famous, and we cannot wait top open our doors and welcome the world to the magic of Showtown.” Leader of Blackpool Council, Councillor Lynn Williams, added: “This is an exciting milestone in the highly anticipated launch of Showtown, which will offer a new kind of experience for residents and visitors to enjoy and perfectly complements the existing attractions for which Blackpool is widely recognised. “We’re looking forward to seeing the attraction open in March and show the world the very best that Blackpool has to offer!” Owned and operated by the Blackpool Heritage and Museum Trust, Showtown is a charity funded project, with many dedicated sponsors, and is set to attract over 200,000 visitors each year. Blackpool Heritage and Museum Trust, aims to deliver engagement programmes which foster knowledge, understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the history and heritage of Blackpool.
