Blackpool’s Winter Gardens To Host Its First Cheese And Wine Evening

The Empress Grill at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens has launched a new and exclusive event aimed at all cheese and wine connoisseurs from across the region.
Debuting for the first time on Friday 8 November, the Blackpool Cheese and Wine Evening will play host to a vast array of delicious cheeses and wines from across the world for visitors to enjoy and learn how to taste professionally.
Experts from The Lancashire Wine School will be on hand to teach guests how to taste wine and learn the principles of food and wine matching, as well as sampling brand new bottles from all over the world.
A plethora of unusual cheeses will be on show as well information about the seven basic styles of cheese and the opportunity to sample some of the most sought after tastes and styles. Visitors will be taken on an exclusive guided tour of the Winter Gardens, learning about its history and iconic features inside the vast array of rooms and concert halls it beholds.
Wine Educator from the LancashireWineSchool, Colin Burbidge, said: “I was so impressed by The Empress Grill Room at Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens the last time I visited, I decided to explore the opportunity to join forces with the Winter Gardens and host a Wine and Cheese evening there.
“Tickets are selling like hot cakes and I am delighted to be organising the event and we are all really looking forward to it. The Winter Gardens building is magnificent and visitors will be able to see for themselves when they take a tour of the grand old building as part of the evening!”

The Blackpool Wine and Cheese Evening will take place at the Empress Grill Room inside the Winter Gardens on Friday 8 November at 7pm, and will be hosted by the LancashireWineSchool.
Tickets cost £26.50 which includes a tasting of six quality wines, a demonstration of tasting wine professionally, learning the seven basic styles of cheese, principles of food and wine matching, full tasting notes and a guided tour of one of Blackpool’s great heritage landmarks – The Winter Gardens.
