Britain’s Got Talent finalists Richard and Adam are to perform at Blackpool’s Switch-On on Saturday 31st August at 2.50pm.
The brothers from Wales won the hearts of the nation earlier this year when they came third in the final of Britain’s Got Talent after performing a spectacular rendition of The Impossible Dream that brought the audience and judges to their feet.
Blackpool Council Leader Cllr Simon Blackburn said: “We are thrilled that Richard and Adam are joining this great line-up when they are riding high at number 1 in the album charts for the fourth consecutive week with The Impossible Dream.
“They represent the best of British talent and it will be a joy to hear them live.”
Cllr Graham Cain added: “Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On has, on many occasions, been a showcase for upcoming, exciting young talent.
“I am really looking forward to seeing Richard and Adam perform.”
Richard and Adam will perform ahead of Madness support Little Roy.
The duo, who worked in their parent’s sandwich shop until a few months ago, have also secured themselves a new chart record for 2013 as they have now overtaken Justin Timberlake as the act with the most consecutive weeks at number 1 this year. It has become the first album to spend that long ruling the chart in one go since Adele’s XL album 21 was No 1 for five consecutive weeks between April and May 2011. It is something that no other classical artist has ever achieved in the UK including The Three Tenors.
Boy bad Reconnected are now unable to perform during Saturday’s gig.
