If you’re feeling brave, then step aboard The Ghost Tram and you will be taken on a “dark” journey from Blackpool along the Fylde Coast to Fleetwood and back to hear stories of ghosts, hauntings, myths and the macabre!
Blackpool and the Fylde Coast has long been a favourite for holiday makers and visitors. For many, the area conjures up cosy images of theme parks, beaches, donkey rides, candyfloss and ice-creams. However, the popular resorts of the Fylde harbour some dark and disturbing secrets too. Want to know more? Then step aboard The Ghost Tram… if you dare!
Take a trip on a heritage tram with Stephen Mercer (aka The Victorian Ghost Hunter), author of Haunted Blackpool, host of the popular Blackpool Ghost Walks, and founder of award-winning local eerie events company Supernatural Events; and on your journey he will tell you many stories of the supernatural, ghosts, hauntings, myth, mystery and the macabre!
Bryan Lindop, Head of Heritage at Blackpool Transport Services Ltd, said, “Working in partnership with Stephen Mercer and Supernatural Events is a joy and creates the perfect combination of a heritage tram ride with a gripping and spine-tingling look into the ghostly goings on along the Fylde coast. Public feedback has been exceptional and Stephen delivers his spooky one man show as the Victorian Ghost Hunter with ghoulish relish. The tours are not for the faint-hearted or for those of a nervous disposition, but are uniquely popular with young and old alike. Tickets are likely to go with all the force of a poltergeist, so book early and rest in peace.”
Host of the tours, Stephen Mercer, added, “We did five tours during the Blackpool Illuminations last year and as well as selling out, we received some really positive comments. The Ghost Tram certainly captured people’s imagination. To come back this year with tours taking place on Monday evenings during all our holiday periods is just amazing. Having presented the Blackpool Ghost Walks for the last seven years, telling tales of hauntings and the paranormal around Blackpool’s promenade and town centre areas, it really is fantastic to go further afield on a heritage tram and tell even more stories all the way along the Fylde Coast from Blackpool to Fleetwood and back! It’s going to be a fun, exciting and quite a spooky 2018 with The Ghost Tram and Blackpool Ghost Walks taking place throughout the year!”
The Ghost Tram will run on Monday evenings 26 March, 2 and 9 April (Easter); 7 and 28 May (May Bank Holidays); and during the main summer season and throughout the Illuminations from 2 July to 29 October. Departures are from the Pleasure Beach Heritage Tram stop at 7.30pm, and the tour will go all the way to Fleetwood and back, lasting approximately two hours. Prices are £9.50 per adult, £4.00 child or £21.00 for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children – children must be under 16 years of age).
Tickets for this thrilling supernatural experience must be booked in advance! Please call Emma on 01253 209521 or email your contact details to heritage.trams@blackpooltransport.com and they will call you back. More information can be found at www.TheGhostTram.co.uk.
