Attractions / Blackpool News Blackpool Clip 'n' Climb set to re-open 17 July 2020 by Visit Blackpool Final plans are underway to re-open the Fylde coast’s dedicated indoor climbing centre as children begin to break up for the summer holidays. Clip ‘n Climb Blackpool has been closed since March, but with the easing of Government restrictions around Covid-19, the adrenaline fuelled attraction will now re-open on Saturday July 25. And owner and ITV Dancing on Ice star Daniel Whiston cannot wait. “Like every business owner, the last few months have been difficult,” said Dan, “but we are now so excited to be able to re-open. “The business will operate slightly differently as we have had to reduce the number of people in the venue at one time and we are implementing more stringent cleaning measures. However, the customer experience will be exactly the same and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back.” Clip ‘n Climb Blackpool, which is based at Whitehills Business Park, has reduced the number of people permitted to use the attraction – which uses 22 climbing obstacles - from 30 to 20. There will also be a 30 minute break between each one-hour session to give staff the opportunity to thoroughly sanitise all public areas. In addition, the venue’s 50 person capacity café is being reduced to 27 and will also be used to house birthday parties. Dan added: “We’re going to be using our dedicated party room for the customer briefing area as this gives us more space when talking to customers and it also means that anyone booking a party will have a much larger space to enjoy themselves in the café. And in fact, if the party is for 20 people, they will have exclusive use of the venue.” The move to re-open is also welcomed by manager John Irving. John said: “The past few months have been so strange so it’s great to be able to re-open the doors and get back to what we do best. Everyone is champing at the bit to return to work and it’s great that all staff will be returning as we all love this job.” As well as reducing the number of climbers permitted during a session, the re-opening of Clip ‘n Climb will also see all people entering the venue have their temperature taken on arrival, everyone will have to sanitise their hands as they enter and before they use equipment and spectators are reduced to one per climber. Dan added: “It’s so exciting to be opening but it’s also imperative that we get this right from the beginning. “We are a business, but we want our customers to know they can come here and have a great time in a safe environment. I am confident that the measures we are putting in place will ensure everyone who comes to Clip ‘n Climb can be safe in the knowledge that we are providing that safe environment for them every time.” Clip ‘n Climb Blackpool re-opens at 9.30am on Saturday July 25. Bookings must be made in advance via the website at www.clipnclimbblackpool.co.uk or by calling 01253 769569. All bookings made by August 1 for the next 12 months will receive a 25% discount
