As part of its 125th birthday celebrations, The Blackpool Tower is sending its Ballroom staff out to care homes across the Fylde Coast to serve a festive afternoon tea to residents and staff - and all for free! The Blackpool Tower wants to hear from people who would like to nominate a deserving care/residential home. In addition to the afternoon tea, residents at the chosen homes will also receive some top dancing tips from a dance instructor and all to the sounds of some of the most famous tunes of years gone by. The Blackpool Tower team will visit four deserving care homes over two days before Christmas. If you have a relative in a care home – or just know of a deserving home please write with the name of the home, together with why they should receive the visit to: enterblackpool@merlinentertainments.biz The deadline for entries is Wednesday 11th December. Kenny Mew, general manager at The Blackpool Tower, said: “This Christmas we want to make it extra special for deserving care homes in Blackpool and the surrounding area. “For some of the residents in our care homes, they may have wonderful memories of The Blackpool Tower but are no longer able to visit – we want to take the festivities of the tower and in particular the Ballroom out to these people so they do not miss out and still enjoy lots of festive fun and cheer this year. “In our 125th birthday year we feel it is particularly important to celebrate the people who have helped to make The Blackpool Tower what it is today.
