Valhalla Named Best Water Ride in the World for Fourth Year Running!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s ever-popular Valhalla has been named The Best Water Ride in the World at the recent Golden Ticket Awards.

Taking home the title for the fourth year running, representatives from amusement and water parks from across the globe came to the decision when gathered at Silver Dollar City, Missouri, for the annual ceremony on the 7^th and 8^th September. The ceremony acknowledges only the very best rides and experiences in the amusement industry.

Valhalla has been enticing visitors to Blackpool Pleasure Beach since it opened in 2000, offering a unique experience of special effects including ice, fire and snow, as well as exciting drops and gallons of water. On opening, the ride represented a £15 million investment, and was Britain’s largest privately funded millennium investment.


Commenting on the award, Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Managing Director, Amanda Thompson OBE, said: “To take home this title for the fourth-year is just incredible, we’re so pleased; Valhalla is such an extraordinary ride and is a prime example of the quality and high standard of rides that we offer at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.”

The Golden Ticket Awards, established in 1998, are presented by Amusement Today, an international publication which covers the amusement park industry. The Golden Ticket Awards acknowledge the best parks and attractions each year.
