BLACKPOOL’S BACK WITH SUMMER PUSH TO DRIVE FAMILY BREAKS

A £1 million campaign will be launched this month to include a new TV advertisement and destination microsite.
The campaign is being launched to remind families that Blackpool is the modern seaside resort and the best choice for a fun filled, short break in the UK.
The initiative #Blackpoolsback, aims to challenge any negative perceptions of the resort, by reminding families of everything Blackpool has to offer. This includes an unrivalled concentration of world-class family attractions, award-winning beaches as well as a summer packed with exciting events.
VisitBlackpool and Merlin Entertainments – are driving the exciting family-focused awareness campaign to re-energise the iconic seaside resort.
The campaign also underlines the massive investment and regeneration that has taken place in the town over the past seven years, resulting in a resort that’s more current than ever.
The new TV advertising campaign kicked off at the end of June following filming at key Blackpool locations in May. It will run in tandem with a new digital campaign, which features a host of information for parents and children.
The #Blackpoolsback campaign launched in June with a dedicated microsite Blackpoolsback.com as well as digital content, followed by a unique TV feature on the town created with STV in Scotland, aired on 1 July featuring visitor led content.
The main TV ad will air throughout Scotland from 7 July and the North on 14 July and will be bolstered by a full PR and social media programme of activity until the end of the resort’s world-famous Illuminations on 9th November.
