EastEnder’s actress MELISSA SUFFIELD (Lucy Beale in the hit soap) is returning to Blackpool North Pier Theatre this summer to star in the title role of the pier’s family-friendly traditional pantomime CINDERELLA.
North Pier favourites Britain’s Got Talent star STEVEN HALL and funny man JOLLY GOODE will co-star along with a full supporting cast and amazing dancers.
Once upon a time there was a very sad young girl called Cinderella. Her father has taken a new wife and she has two new step-sisters. The wicked step-sisters do everything they can to make her life miserable, including making sure she doesn’t go to the Prince’s fancy dress ball. The ball will be a very beautiful and special evening as the Prince will choose a bride from all the eligible maidens attending. Cinderella desperately wants to go, but how can she? Well this is fairytale panto-land… Queue the Fairy Godmother, a pumpkin, six white mice and a glass slipper and let’s see what happens…
This summer’s North Pier Theatre traditional pantomime, Cinderella, will be fun for all the family with lots of music, dance, fun and laughter. The show is presented by Trio Entertainment who broke all box office records with the wonderful Wizard of Oz last summer which also returned to the theatre by popular demand at Easter starring the EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield.
Melissa enjoyed her time in Blackpool so much, visiting a number of the attractions and restaurants; she asked the producers if she could return to Blackpool to appear in their summer show!
Melissa said “I’m so excited to be returning to Blackpool in the summer to appear in Cinderella. I had the most fun when I was last here at Easter and look forward to exploring even more of what Blackpool has to offer. I didn’t manage to get to Pleasure Beach then, so that’s top of my list! I can’t wait to be back on the North Pier again. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It is a wonderful theatre to perform in.”
Melissa Suffield played the role of Lucy Beale in EastEnders for six years from the age of 11 and has appeared in a number of television series including Bravo Two Zero, Poirot, Magic Grandad and Spy TV. No stranger to performing on the stage, Melissa has performed in numerous theatre productions including Olly’s Prison, pantomimes Wizard of Oz, Snow White and Rapunzel and as Belle in the touring production of Beauty and the Beast. Alongside acting, she has also presented a documentary entitled 16: Too Young To Vote? for BBC Three, voiced Cbeebies programme Boo!, and reported for the BBC Watchdog programme.
Melissa will be joined by Steven Hall, best known for his unique dance performance on the ITV hit show Britain’s Got Talent. Since making it through to the finals of the show in 2011, Steven has appeared on the Britain’s Got Talent arena tour and continues to perform his crowd-pleasing routines at theatres, nightclubs and schools across the country. North Pier favourite funny man Jolly Goode will have you crying with laughter with his comedy capers and gags galore.
Cinderella will be performed every Wednesday from July 16th to August 27th at 2pm and 7pm at Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre and you can book your seats now! Tickets are just £10 with family discounts available (£25.50 for a family of three or £30 for a family of four).
