Madame Tussauds Blackpool gives Rooney the 5 star grooming treatment.
HIS wife is one of the most stylish WAGs around and Wayne Rooney is normally better known for his football prowess.
However, the 27-year-old has been making almost as many headlines for his looks as he has his goal scoring. The youngest ever scorer for England is a popular figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool with fans of all ages eager to rub shoulders with the Liverpudlian.
Male grooming has become ever more popular over the past year and Rooney is not ashamed to show off his very public grooming regime. So here at Madame Tussauds Blackpool our Wayne Rooney has also been given the Harley street treatment.
Dressed in a brand new Manchester United football strip, the new and improved Rooney is stood alongside fellow football stars in the locker room showing off his new hair.
The restyled Rooney took over 3 months to create, that’s 800 hours. With 15-20 highly skilled members of the Madame Tussauds studio team working to insert every strand of hair, paint every tiny freckle and sculpt every smile line.
Senior Principal Sculptor Louis Wiltshire said: “We take just as much care and attention into a restyle as creating a brand new figure. We use photo references from every angle of the celebrity to ensure that we recreate each line, crease, and skin tone change is spot on.”
Each figure costs over £150,000 each time one is sculpted and a restyle like Rooney’s costs almost the same.
General Manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, Matthew Titherington said: “We are extremely happy with the new and improved Wayne Rooney. He is certainly attracting a lot of attention.”
“We consistently invest in keeping each and every figure current, whether that be a whole new look like Rooney or just a wardrobe change to keep up to date with the celebrities current style. The girls get the most attention with their every changing hairstyle’s. But we have noticed in recent years our male celebrities paying more attention to their appearance.”
Set over five floors and 14 themed areas of interactive fun, Blackpool is the UK’s only Madame Tussauds outside of London and offers visitors the ultimate fame experience.
