Blackpool’s launched its latest Destination Guide with a little help from the stars of the world’s most successful musical.
The Dynamos from Mamma Mia!, which is heading to the resort for a 10-week run next summer, have put their support behind the Guide.
Around 13 million people already visit Blackpool every year and the Dynamos are backing the resort to welcome even more tourists.
Sue Devaney plays Rosie in the musical and is well known to audiences from her stints in the BBC’s Dinnerladies and Coronation Street.
“I love Blackpool,” said Sue, “and we are all really looking forward to spending time there next year.
“It’s the perfect seaside town because it just has so much to offer everyone whatever their age. For me Blackpool is full of childhood memories and with all the regeneration work that’s happened on the prom’ and around the town it really is a great place to visit.”
Packed with fun ideas 80,000 copies of the Guide will be distributed nationally over the next couple of weeks. It is also available to view online at www.visitblackpool.com/blackpoolnow
It is full of hints and tips to suit every pocket including details of the Blackpool Resort Pass, an events listing for 2014 with more than a hundred events planned so far (many of which are free of charge), and information about all the top indoor and outdoor attractions including the many green spaces and delightful parks across the Fylde Coast.
Whether people want a relaxing break enjoying Blackpool of old with the resort’s excellent cultural and heritage offers, or they’re after an action packed holiday filled with the thrills and spills that only Blackpool can offer, families and individuals alike are guaranteed a great time.
Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director of Marketing Blackpool, said: “Blackpool looks fantastic and Blackpool Now is the perfect Destination Guide to showcase the resort to our many visitors.
“We remain the nation’s most popular seaside resort but we do not rest on our laurels in Blackpool and are constantly evolving to ensure we remain at the top.
“With fantastic attractions and a year-round events calendar there is always something to see and do in the resort, so whether you are a regular visitor or you’ve not been for years, I would urge everyone to look through the Guide and get their holiday booked now.”
