Scottish star, Sir Sean Connery, will arrive at Madame Tussauds Blackpool “from London with love”
Visitors of Madame Tussauds were invited to vote for their favourite Scot and not surprisingly were inundated by requests for the former James Bond actor after the figure was recently ‘re-styled’ from the well-loved tuxedo cocktail jacket into a traditional tartan kilt for his 83rd birthday.
With more than 35% of visitors to Madame Tussauds Blackpool coming from Scotland every year, the attraction wanted to “sh’elebrate” their arrival by bringing the Scottish icon to the world famous Blackpool attraction.
General Manager, Matthew Titherington, said, “Last year we welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors to Madame Tussauds Blackpool, and with such a large representation from Scotland, we had to do something special to honour their love of the resort.”
Sir Sean Connery, born in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh famously played James Bond seven times and has been polled as the Greatest Living Scot* and Scotland’s Greatest Living National Treasure**.
Standing at 6ft 2.4” and taking over 3 months to create, the figure which usually resides in London, is not just a national treasure but one of the most popular wax figures in Madame Tussauds.
Set over five floors and 14 themed areas of interactive fun, Blackpool is the UK’s only Madame Tussauds outside of London and offers visitors the ultimate fame experience.
