Blackpool Council Extends Shirt Sponsorship Deal for 2020/21 Season
Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce an extension to its principal sponsorship agreement with Blackpool Council, which will see the branding of VisitBlackpool remain on the Seasiders’ first-team and replica home shirts for the 2020/21 season.
The partnership, previously launched at the top of Blackpool Tower in June 2019, offers the perfect synergy to benefit and promote tourism in the town and community.
As the tourism arm of Blackpool Council, Visit Blackpool is tasked with promoting the UK’s most popular holiday destination to a worldwide audience, working closely with local partners and stakeholders to showcase the best that Blackpool has to offer.
The partnership will also enable the Council and the Club to continue to work together to tackle mental health and wellbeing across the town through the Get Vocal campaign.
The extension of this exciting partnership with VisitBlackpool was announced at Bloomfield Road alongside the unveiling of the home kit for 2020/21, with members of the Club, Blackpool Council and the local press present.
Blackpool FC Chief Executive, Ben Mansford, said:
“Blackpool Council is a valued partner of Blackpool Football Club and we are delighted to have reached an agreement to extend our relationship with Blackpool Council.
“As a community football club, we take great pride in representing the town, its attractions, businesses and people, and look forward to working with Blackpool Council and VisitBlackpool to enhance tourism during the 2020/21 season.”
Cabinet Member for Tourism & Culture for Blackpool Council, Cllr Gillian Campbell, said:
“We are delighted to announce that we are renewing our partnership with Blackpool Football Club.
“This will once again enable us to widely promote the destination and also continue to work with the club on tackling the physical and mental health issues that are so prevalent in Blackpool, as they are across the UK.
“Blackpool Football Club is a really important part of community life and this innovative partnership has already proved that it has the potential to rebuild civic pride in Blackpool as a town, and as a football club, and to celebrate our unique heritage as the birthplace of popular tourism.”
