Half-term fun set to bubble over in Blackpool

Blackpool’s half-term crowds are going to get a special taster of next year’s Showzam! Festival with a mind-boggling performance that will simply take your breath away.

Showzam! – the resort’s now legendary festival of circus – returns in February with a host of world class acts.

But to whet your appetite before then a
special ‘Pop-Up ‘event will take place in St John’s Square, outside Blackpool’s famous Winter Gardens, on Thursday October 29th.

Dizzy O’Dare is heading to town to perform his crazy Giant Balloon Show. The show has had audiences around the country simultaneously in stitches and in awe and promises to be a magical treat for all the family.

Expect balloon sculptures, high energy comic performance and of course the all-important giant balloon!

Dizzy will be carrying out three performances on at 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm in St John’s Square.

Now in its ninth year, Showzam! is Blackpool’s very own festival of circus and will again bring some of the best original acts from around the globe to the resort.

Helen Frost, Audience Development Officer at LeftCoast, said: “We can’t wait for Showzam! 2016 and we have some fantastic high quality acts lined up for the festival’s ninth year which we will be revealing soon.

“Before then we are delighted to have a special teaser event in the shape of The Giant Balloon Show which we are sure will be a real family crowd pleaser during this October half-term.”

One of the highlights of 2016 Showzam! Festival will undoubtedly be the UK debut of French circus company Akoreacro.

They are currently touring Europe to sell-out crowds and will be headlining at The Blackpool Tower Circus during the festival which will be staged from February 13-20.
