by Visit Blackpool
Dan is best-known for appearing on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, taking part as a professional skater in the show for all nine series. He is the most decorated professional on the show after he and his respective partners were named Dancing on Ice Champions on three occasions (2006 with Gaynor Faye, 2010 with Hayley Tamaddon, and 2013 with Beth Tweddle).
Poulton-born Dan began his career as a skater at the tender age of seven, spending most of his early years at the Pleasure Beach’s Ice Arena before and after school. He trained professionally with Phil Winston in all areas of performance including dance, drama and singing.
His career highlights include being the lead skater in the Pleasure Beach’s Hot Ice Show, touring with Grease on Ice and Disney on Ice in North America, as well as in the European Tour of Holiday on Ice with Robin Cousins, and performing in the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing on Ice.
Daniel has also performed at the Royal Variety Performance, alongside Coldplay at the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony, and was an associate choreographer at the Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies that year.
Daniel remains a regular face on TV, hosting fitness shows on the Ideal World shopping channel, while also running numerous classes as a fitness instructor around the Fylde. Dan has performed in Panto previously alongside Bradley Walsh in Nottingham, but local lad Dan is delighted to be making his hometown panto debut at the Blackpool Grand.
Andrew Howard, Grand Theatre Marketing Manager said,
“It is a pleasure to have Dan perform as The Prince in the Grand’s panto this Christmas, having seen his career flourish over the years. We are so excited to welcome Dan back to Blackpool, and to see him in his first performance here at the Grand Theatre.”
Packed full of fun and adventure for all the family, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is another spectacular pantomime from Martin Dodd with UK Productions.
Help defeat the Wicked Queen and stop her banishing Snow White once and for all. Join the handsome Prince, mischievous Muddles and the seven dwarfs to triumph over evil. We, of course, all know who is the fairest in the land, but the Wicked Queen is not convinced!
Following 2014’s record-breaking opening of Sleeping Beauty, which starred Jennifer Ellison, audiences will be guaranteed another year of stunning sets, glittering costumes and side-splitting comedy for Christmas 2015.
