Join in the Fun at the Fireworks Championships 2015

For the next four Friday evenings, Blackpool plays host to the Fireworks Championships 2015.

As the Blackpool Illuminations bathe the Promenade in light, three of the best pyrotechnicians from across the globe will battle it out on the North Pier in a bid to be crowned winner of the event.

This year sees China, France and Canada compete to put on the best quality displays, of which the results are sure to be breathtaking. The talented fireworks engineers will also match their fireworks to music throughout their shows in order to truly delight all the senses.

All displays start from 7.30pm with a build up from Rock FM, with fireworks going off at approximately 8.30pm.

The displays set to light the sky over the Irish Sea this year are as follows:

11th September – China, Tanghua Fireworks – after providing fireworks for the 2012 London Olympics, Tanghua are opening the competition with their spectacular show.

18th September – France, Féérie – this team boast the Guinness World Record for the longest firework display, so are sure to be tough competition to beat this year.

25th September – Canada, Orion Fireworks – Canada will be looking to retain its title, which was won in 2014 by fellow countrymen Firemaster Productions. Performing over 80 shows a year, Orion is well versed at putting on jaw-dropping displays, so will not disappoint in Blackpool this year.

2nd October – Celebration Display by UK and Winner Announcement – Each display will be judged by a panel of local judges, with the winner announced after a display from the UK’s very own Titanium Fireworks team.

The fireworks displays are brilliant family days out, as excitement on the ground builds early in the day and thousands of spectators fill the seafront eagerly awaiting the performances.

When you’re there, be sure to make the most of the carnival atmosphere and also indulge in some traditional Blackpool treats while the sky fills with amazing technicolor light.
