Sherlock Holmes And The Ripper Murders
3 September 2015
by Visit Blackpool
This autumn, as part of The Grand’s season of gruesome drama and murder mystery, comes the thrilling Sherlock Holmes and the Ripper Murders.
Written by Brian Clemens, the English screenwriter famous for his work on The Avengers, this drama of intrigue and suspense features everyone’s favourite detective.
The grisly serial killings of prostitutes and vulnerable women in Victorian Whitechapel have been dubbed by the popular press as the work of ‘Jack the Ripper’ and are the talk of London.
While investigating the goings on, Sherlock Holmes and Dr John H Watson are drawn into one of the darkest plots ever to shake the foundations of England. There are freemasons, conspiracies and plots at the highest level of the establishment. But for Holmes, there is also a uniquely personal element to this new and terrifying case…
Set in the smog-ridden slums of Victorian London, this promises to be a truly atmospheric production.
The play is brought to The Grand by Talking Scarlet, who produced Double Death in 2014 and Murder With Love in July 2015.
Lovers of BBC ONE’s Sherlock and Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous Sherlock Holmes stories featuring should not miss this chilling drama when it visits The Grand from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 7 November.
