Blackpool is packed full of fun days out for all the family, and SEA LIFE Blackpool certainly fits this bill. The wonderful displays are packed with over 2,000 creatures, with plenty of opportunity to get up close and personal with fascinating animals such as Sharks, Seahorses, Jellyfish, Rays and even a Giant Lobster!
Here are five things to do during your visit:
Watch amazing feeding shows
Feeding times are among the most interesting spectacles at SEA LIFE Blackpool..
Each feed is accompanied by an entertaining and informative talk from a member of the SEA LIFE Blackpool team, who will explain exactly what’s going on and do their best to answer any questions you may have.
Keep a special eye out for the Shark feeding times, as this is a sight you really shouldn’t miss!
If you want to watch your favourite fish get fed, you will find all the information you need on arrival at the attraction.
Explore the Stingray Adventure
Stingrays are fascinating creatures, and they have a wonderful home at the heart of SEA LIFE Blackpool. You’ll be able to spot Honeycomb Whiprays, Blue Spotted Stingrays, Cownose Rays and Zebra Sharks, each one a fascinating and beautiful creature to watch in action.
Children will love the Stingray Adventure display, which allows them to crawl through tunnels under the tank and pop up in one of the domed windows, offering a unique perspective of the animals.
Interact with the Sharks
Unsurprisingly, the Sharks are one of the biggest attractions at SEA LIFE Blackpool. There are plenty of ways to enjoy them too, starting with exploring the maze of tunnels winding under their tank. This immersive experience really puts you at the heart of the action and is a great way to watch the Sharks in action.
You can also enjoy the Shark Feeding Experience, where trained keepers will talk you through their diet. You can even go snorkelling in the display and really get face-to-fin.
Visit Nobby the Giant Lobster
Of all the animals at SEA LIFE Blackpool, not many have a more interesting story than Nobby the Giant Lobster.
In 2009, he was caught by fishermen off the coast of North Wales. He was rescued and brought to the team at SEA LIFE, where he is now proudly displayed for visitors. Nobby weighs in at around 10lb, and keepers believe he is likely to be at least 100 years old!
Enjoy the interactive rockpools
Children will love the chance to interact with the animals at SEA LIFE Blackpool, and with the interactive rockpools, they’ll be able to hold a crab and touch a live starfish.
They will also get to hear about the animals from the keepers who look after them, which is a fantastic way to learn about how these wonderful creatures survive in their natural habitat.
A family day out with a difference
Visit SEA LIFE Blackpool for a great interactive experience that will get your children truly excited about discovering some of the ocean’s most precious creatures, and teach them the importance of conserving our ocean environments for the future.
