by Visit Blackpool
Keeping toddlers entertained can be a challenge. Not so in Blackpool, where the wide variety of attractions will ensure your little ones have a visit they will never forget.
There are many reasons why Blackpool is the UK’s best-loved family resort. Here are just some of them:
The Blackpool Tower Eye
No matter how old you are, no visit to Blackpool is complete without a trip to the top of The Blackpool Tower. With the transparent floor, young children can enjoy the same superb views as everyone else, without needing to be carried around or hoisted onto your shoulders.
The immersive 4D cinema experience is also popular with toddlers, who love to try and catch the shapes as they jump off the screen.
The Blackpool Tower Circus
While you’re here, we recommend taking in the fantastic Blackpool Tower Circus. The Endresz family are celebrating 25 years at the helm of this spectacular circus, where toddlers will love the crazy antics of the clowns, Mooky and Mr Boo, and marvel at the jaw-dropping acrobats.
For just £5.95, your toddler can enjoy both The Blackpool Tower Eye and Circus. Buy tickets online for the biggest savings.
Blackpool Beach
Toddlers love the beach, and you won’t find many better in the UK than Blackpool. With seven miles of golden sands to enjoy, you’re sure to find the perfect spot to spend the day.
Your children are sure to have a great day building sandcastles, enjoying an ice cream and paddling in the sea. It really is the quintessential British summer day out.
Blackpool Promenade
As well as the beach, Blackpool also has seven miles of stunning promenade to enjoy. Whether you choose to stroll along a section of it, or take a trip on one of Blackpool’s iconic trams, on a clear day you will enjoy stunning ocean views across the sparkling Irish Sea.
Don’t forget to pay Blackpool’s iconic piers a visit too. The North Pier is the perfect place to stop for a drink or ice cream, while the South Pier contains many child-friendly funfair rides.
Blackpool Zoo
Young children love zoos, and Blackpool is home to all your favourite animals. Toddlers will love visiting the Lions, Tigers, Elephants, Giraffes, Penguins, Orang-utans, Gorillas and Sea Lions, plus they get to meet cute and cuddly animals such as the African Pygmy Goat and Mediterranean Miniature Donkey.
Best of all, Blackpool Zoo does not charge an entry fee for children under three years old, while adult tickets start at £14.50 if purchased more than seven days in advance online.
SEA LIFE Blackpool
Continuing the animal theme, SEA LIFE Blackpool features over 2,000 stunning sea creatures, including Sharks, Lobsters, Starfish, Jellyfish, Rays, Clownfish and Seahorses.
The atmosphere here is truly awe-inspiring, with tunnels, screens and windows allowing toddlers to get right up close to these beautiful animals.
This is another attraction where children under 3 are admitted free, while adult tickets are £13 if bought online.
Sandcastle Waterpark
If your toddler loves nothing more than a good splash around, Sandcastle Waterpark is the place to go. Your children will have a great time playing in the Caribbean Storm Treehouse, Shimmering Shallows and Treetops Water Chutes, and it’s perfect for a little bonding time with your child.
Sandcastle Waterpark is a great attraction if you have both older and younger children, as children over 8 are able to enjoy a number of fast-paced, exciting slides and chutes while you spend time with your toddler in the less energetic parts of the park!
Once again, children under 3 can visit for free, while adult tickets start at £15.50. You will receive a 10% discount if you book online more than seven days in advance.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
There are plenty of family-friendly rides to enjoy at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, including the Crazy Daisy teacup ride, Chinese Puzzle Maze and Pleasure Beach Express.
In addition, Nickelodeon Land contains a whole host of attractions themed around your child’s favourite shows, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, The Rugrats and Dora the Explorer.
Children under 2 can enter Blackpool Pleasure Beach for free, but to start enjoying rides you may wish to purchase a junior ticket, which is available from £17 when bought online.
Blackpool Model Village and Gardens
If you’re after a quieter day out, why not take your toddler for a trip to Stanley Park and the delightful Model Village.
There are hundreds of beautifully crafted village scenes dotted around the gardens, which are just perfect for exploring.
The highlight for toddlers will undoubtedly be the model railway, featuring Thomas the Tank Engine and his carriages, Annie and Clarabel.
Children aged 2 and under are welcomed free, while entry is £5.75 for children up to 16 and £6.95 for adults.
