Blackpool Pleasure Beach has launched its brand new ride, Red Arrows Skyforce. The new ride, which represents a £2m investment, took its maiden voyage with a very special guest, Squadron Leader Mike Ling who is better known as Red 10. Following the launch, the crowds who had flocked to Pleasure Beach enjoyed a spectacular air display from the Red Arrows.
As part of the celebrations, one of the first official rides on Red Arrows Skyforce was taken by 177 Blackpool Airport Air Cadets who were representing our pilots of tomorrow.
Loved across the planet for their jaw-dropping displays which have thrilled millions, the pride of the Royal Air Force will now be represented at the *UK’s number one amusement park in a unique partnership where the rider takes control of their own aeroplane to become a master of the skies.
Complete in Red Arrows livery, the brand new ride also features its own control tower from which novice pilots will be prepared for take-off.
Red Arrows Skyforce is situated in the shadow of the Big One rollercoaster. The 72ft high, 12-seat white-knuckle ride takes you on a 360-degree tour of the skies. Stepping into your cockpit, you take control of the aeroplane and spin, glide and take formation in your very own display.
Red Arrows Skyforce takes you on an airborne adventure, spinning, swirling and exciting the senses while you and your fellow pilots take control of their own flights before touching down and checking out a dedicated shop, which features exclusive merchandise and souvenirs designed for Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Deputy Managing Director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Nick Thompson, comments: “We have been working on this ride concept for well over a year now and its great to see everything come together with this fantastic launch and air display.
“We are delighted to have been able to work with such an iconic brand as the Red Arrows and look forward to welcoming many budding pilots to test their skills on Skyforce.”
