Budding Neil Diamonds are being urged to take a trip to Blackpool and entertain shoppers.
The legendary singer-songwriter is performing in the holiday resort this July.
But before then fans of his music are being encouraged to take part in a Karaoke competition searching for the best Neil Diamond impersonator who can belt out Sweet Caroline.
So if you’ve got stars in your eyes, you need to be at Blackpool’s Houndshill Shopping Centre from 12noon on Saturday May 30.
And the best singer, judged by Radio Wave’s Breakfast Show host Ged Mills, will win fantastic tickets to see the star along with VIP treatment when he plays at Bloomfield Road on Thursday July 23.
Event promoters Cuffe and Taylor are behind the Blackpool gig and Director Peter Taylor said it’s a great way to get people excited about the show.
Peter said: “I think you’d really struggle to find people who don’t know Sweet Caroline so we’re laying down the challenge and we want to hear from the best of them.
“There’s a real buzz that we’ve got such a huge star coming to Blackpool this summer so this is a bit of fun to remind people who haven’t yet bought their tickets that time is running out.
“We want our Neil Diamond impersonators to well and truly entertain the crowds in Houndshill and of course whoever sings Sweet Caroline the best on the day will win a fantastic prize.”
The Neil Diamond Karaoke Competition is taking place in Houndshill from 12noon to 2pm on Saturday May 30.
The winner, as decided by Radio Wave’s Ged Mills, will win two hot seat tickets to the Blackpool concert, access to the VIP bar, a tour gift and souvenir lanyard.
Tickets for Neil Diamond at Bloomfield Road are available from ticketline.co.uk or by calling 0844 888 9991.
