Illuminasia
Illuminasia is a captivating illumination experience that is a must-see attraction for families this year.
With seven different zones including The Mysteries of China, The Planetarium and The Land of the Giants, it is sure to capture your children’s imagination. Located in the Winter Gardens, it is well worth heading to, especially if the heavens open during your trip.
The Blackpool Tower
Many families spend hours exploring the five different attractions inside The Blackpool Tower.
Treat your kids to a thrilling lift ride to the floor to ceiling glass observation area at the top of The Blackpool Tower, which offers sensational seascape views across Blackpool. The 4D cinema experience is also not to be missed, where 3D images, floor-shaking vibrations, smoke, spray and water jets are used to tell Blackpool’s story in a way that will truly excites the senses.
For tots needing to blow off steam, Jungle Jim’s soft play centre is perfect. The Blackpool Tower Circus also offers good wholesome family entertainment, with acrobatics, clowning capers and a surprise finale. A visit to The Blackpool Tower Dungeon is also a must, where a cast of villains, rogues and rascals will take your family on a journey through Lancashire’s dark history, telling enthralling tales of torture, witches and the dreaded Plague.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
From white knuckle roller coaster rides to child-friendly spinning tea cups, there’s something for everyone at the Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The 6 acre amusement park is filled with thrilling rides and game stalls, while there are also various shows taking place throughout the summer, including magic and hypnotism as well as Hot Ice shows.
Sandcastle Waterpark
The largest indoor water park in the UK, Sandcastle Waterpark features water slides, wave machines, fun pools and a lazy river – ideal for a rainy day out in Blackpool. While your children are kept thoroughly entertained by the 18 different slides and attractions, you can catch a bite to eat while relaxing in the on-site burger restaurant or snack bar.
Madame Tussauds
The ultimate celebrity experience, your family can spot their favourite stars and have photos taken with personalities from across music, sport, film and the small screen. From our brand new wax figure of Olly Murs to a replica Rovers Return, there is something for all ages and interests.
Blackpool Zoo
Animal lovers can head to Blackpool Zoo, where the 32 acres of parkland contains favourites including elephants, big cats, gorillas and sea lions. There is also a Children’s Farm onsite with many fluffy animals to stroke, perfect for the younger members of your family.
SEALIFE
With over 50 displays of exotic fish, sea horses, octopus and tropical sharks, children and adults alike enjoy exploring the underwater worlds at SEA LIFE. The attraction can also be a fascinating learning experience for kids, with an interactive rock pool plus feeding experiences available.
Blackpool Illuminations
Remember travelling down the Blackpool promenade and being spellbound by the Illuminations when you were young? Now is your chance to give your children the same glorious experience.

Unmissable shows and events
The Blackpool calendar is jam-packed with shows, concerts and special events that would also be the perfect addition to your family day out. This summer, we are incredibly excited to be hosting:
Blackpool Air Show – 9 – 10 August
Both modern and classic aircrafts take to the sky for this FREE air show. Prepare to be wowed by the aerobic stunts and acts of bravery from the pilots, while sat on the golden sands or strolling along the promenade.
Hot Ice Show – 2 July – 5 September
This year, Hot Ice returns with a captivating and spectacular new performance, Desire. A show for all the family, it stars a cast of world championship performers, stunning special effects and glamorous costumes. If you are planning on going to one of the most famous ice shows in history, we recommend booking your tickets online to avoid disappointment.
World Fireworks Championships – 11, 18, 25 September & 2 October
The skies light up at night in Blackpool during this event, as the firework elite from around the world put on jaw dropping displays.
