Ghost Hunting for Charity at Winstone House, at the Citadel!
11 June 2018
by Visit Blackpool
Horizon Blackpool has partnered with local eerie events company Supernatural Events to present a charity ghost tour at its Winstone House (at The Citadel) base on Thursday 21st June.
If you are feeling brave you will be able to explore and investigate some of this old fascinating and historic building; which in a previous incarnation housed a grammar school. On the evening there will be access to some of the old school rooms and offices where those attending will be able to carry out some experiments including dowsing, séances, pendulum, table work, and much more!
All proceeds from the tour will go to charities supported by Horizon, which offers drug, alcohol and non-clinical sexual health support to all residents of Blackpool.
Geraldine Brine, part of the Horizon team comments “It’s very exciting for Horizon to be involved in an event like this, so we’re delighted to be working with Stephen from Supernatural Events who has such a great track record of bringing buildings to life in the spookiest of ways. We’re privileged to work with clients within Winstone House, one of Blackpool’s iconic buildings, so to find out more about its history will be fascinating.”
Horizon’s services are confidential, non-judgemental and completely free of charge to anybody living in Blackpool who needs support to overcome their issues. Horizon operates out of four buildings in Blackpool: Harrowside, 102 Dickson Road, Winstone House and 258 Church Street. Anybody wanting to access support from Horizon can just turn up at 102 Dickson Rd or telephone 01253 205156.
Supernatural Events’ founder, Stephen Mercer added, “Winstone House has a fascinating history, from its days as a Grammar School to how it is used today by Horizon. It will be fantastic to bring those who are interested in the spookier side of the building inside to explore and investigate some of the older rooms that are currently not accessed by the public to see what happens. It’s going to be a fun evening… and all for charity.”
Tickets (which are limited in number) for the Winstone House Charity Ghost Tour are just £15.00 per person and available by visiting www.SupernaturalEvents.co.uk, where you can also find out more about this event and other ghost tours, walks etc taking place this year.
