Showzam! Blackpool’s festival of circus, magic and live performance is back and celebrating 10 years of Showmazing events! With a whole host of events, shows and live performance you’ll find something for all the family to enjoy.
This year’s FREE to watch, action packed street theatre programme takes place between 11-14th February around the Town Centre on Bank Hey Street, Birley Street, Victoria Street and Church Street.
From 11:00 – 16:00 daily, join Spikey Will, Rob Roy Collins, Polly Hoops, Pete Anderson and Felicity Footloose for an entertainment extravaganza as they bring the town centre alive.
Spikey Will aka Danger Man specialises in (you got it!) danger! This London–based street performer is best known for his jaw-dropping bed of nails act that will leave his audience speechless!
World-renowned hula hoop extraordinaire Polly Hoops is one of the very few female street performers regularly performing in London’s famous Covent Garden. Joining us for Showzam!, Polly is set to entertain with her circus, clowning and hoop improvisation.
Whilst death defying escapologist Rob Roy Collins promises to wow the crowds with his daredevil stunts combining balance, acrobatics and escapology with a natural sense of humour and showmanship.
Charismatic, charming and effortlessly funny Pete Anderson has entertained audiences from around the world. His signature trick is climbing and balancing on an unsupported 10ft ladder wearing only a kilt, redefines the term ‘personal risk’.
Last but by no means least, not to be missed and hilariously funny, the Felicity Footloose Show is full of fun, frolics and daredevil antics. This street performer lives in the 80s and just wants to dance! Watch as she juggles, dances and performs daredevil acrobatics to try and impress her hero Jonny! The absurd street performer will even go as far as to hang from her toes upside down and juggle knives!
Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council said: “We’ve got some amazing free and interactive street theatre performing during this year’s Showzam!
“It’s not to be missed and loved by all ages I would advise you to take some time to come and see these marvellous and talented performers here in Blackpool.”
