Ticket sales are rocketing for singing legend Rod Stewart’s eagerly-awaited Blackpool show, as part of his new UK tour next year – with excited fans from across the globe desperate not to miss the big summer party.
The football-mad singer is performing next summer in a series of five concerts at well-known club grounds across the country and his fans are already counting down to the big kick-off. A real highlight will be Rod performing on the 40th anniversary of his last appearance in Blackpool.
Tickets have been sold to fans as far afield as America, South Africa and Australia, with demand remaining very strong. For details of how to book, please visit www.ticketline.co.uk or call 0844 888 9991.
The 68-year-old will be kicking the tour off at Brighton and Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium on June 13 next year. He follows that with a performance at Premier League Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium on June 14.
And on June 20 it’s a trip to the seaside for Celtic fan Rod and his band, as they look to rock Blackpool’s historic Bloomfield Road ground.
The three venues are the biggest of the five date UK tour, which also includes concerts in Taunton, on June 18, and Falkirk, on June 21.
The Brighton, Blackpool and Stoke concerts are being presented by Fylde-based concert promoters Cuffe & Taylor, who have a growing reputation for delivering major music events, including the annual Lytham Proms weekend which attracts top performers to the popular resort, near Blackpool, every year.
Peter Taylor, director of Cuffe & Taylor said: “The reaction we have had since announcing the tour dates has been amazing.
“We’ve been swamped with calls from fans – some from as far afield as America and Australia – who are desperate to get their hands on a ticket to see their idol.
The concerts will mark 40 years since the last time international superstar Rod rocked Blackpool in December 1974, with legendary group The Faces.
The tour will see him perform songs from his 29th and latest hit album, Time, which is an autobiographical work.
Rod said: “A lot’s happened for me both professionally and personally since I last played these locations and I’m delighted to be finally coming back.
“It’s been a long time coming, but I’m looking to make my return something people will remember.
“It’s also going to be fantastic playing football stadium venues and the atmosphere is going rock!”
