by Visit Blackpool
Blackpool’s celebrated Carnival Ball is back and it is time to Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The Carnival Ball is part of Showzam! – Blackpool’s annual festival celebrating Circus, Magic and New Variety.
And for the 2014 Ball people are being encouraged to step back in time to the 1950s and enjoy the golden era of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
From Teddy Boys and Elvis quiffs to petticoats and chignons, it’s time to dust off your drain pipes and bobby socks and get to The Blackpool Tower Ballroom for an evening of entertainment.
Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists and the UK’s number one jive and swing band The Jive Aces will perform throughout the evening along with a host of other acts.
Acts confirmed so far include Chinese pole artiste Edd Muir, one of the UK’s leading contortionists Delia du Sol and No Fit State Circus will perform a floor show specially commissioned for Showzam!
Carnival Ball tickets are on sale from Friday (Oct 11) with a limited number of reduced price tickets available until December 31.
Marketing Blackpool Event Organiser Chris Pope said: “The Carnival Ball is always a huge success and tickets do sell out really quickly so I would urge people to get theirs as soon as possible.
“The 1950s Rock ‘n’ Roll theme is a really exciting one and we expect this to be massively popular. Most of the people attending the ball always dress up in the theme of the night so we are looking forward to seeing lots of interesting quiffs, Teddy Boys and poodle skirts.
“The Jive Aces are the perfect band for the night and I am delighted to be announcing the Edd Muir, Delia du Sol and No Fit State Circus will all be performing.”
The Carnival Ball will take place in The Blackpool Tower Ballroom at 7.30pm on Saturday February 15.
Tickets are £25 (standing) and from £130 for a table of four.
Standing tickets bought before December 31 are just £20.
Standing tickets are available from VisitBlackpool Tourist Information Centre at Festival House on the Promenade or by visiting www.showzam.co.uk . To book a table you must visit or telephone the Tourist Information Centre on 01253 478222.
Showzam! 2014 runs from Friday 14 to Sunday 23 February.
