HORRIBLE HISTORIES BARMY BRITAIN
14 March 2014
by Visit Blackpool
We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead!
So prepare yourselves for the return of Horrible Histories live on stage at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre from Wednesday 26 March with the wonderfully wacky new show BARMY BRITAIN crammed full of foul facts, gruesome gore and all new amazing 3D effects!
Horrible Histories is the live stage show adapted from the much-loved children’s historical comedy book series by renowned children’s author Terry Deary. The Horrible Histories series of tales are splattered with blood, battles, gore and glory and teach children about all aspects of history from the Ruthless Romans and the Terrible Tudors to the Vile Victorians and The Frightful First World War through a clever series of comedy songs, squelchy sound effects and sketches and the exciting use of 3D ‘boggle vision’ special effects.
In the bonkers new show Barmy Britain can you beat battling Boudicca? Has William Wallace met his match? Would you lose your heart or head to horrible Henry? Can evil Elizabeth entertain England? Will Parliament survive gunpowder Guy? Can King Charles keep his head? Would you stand and deliver to dastardly Dick Turpin? Escape the clutches of Burke and Hare, dare to dance the Tyburn jig, move to the groove with party Queen Victoria and prepare to do battle in the frightful First World War? It’s the horrible history of Britain with the nasty bits left in!
Horrible Histories is hideously wonderful entertainment with a hefty dose of historic education for ages 6 to 106. You’ll laugh your head off…
