The ‘LOVEmyBEACH’ campaign has launched a photography competition to build a portfolio of images of beautiful North West beaches and bathing waters.
The competition is open to all photographers – photos need to be submitted by 9am on Monday 3 February 2014 by email to enquiries@keepbritaintidy.org or submit them via @LOVEmyBEACH_NW on twitter or facebook.com/lovemybeachnw.
There are 32 bathing water beaches in the North West – see our website for the full list http://www.lovemybeach.org/ – so you can choose where to take your photo.
The prize for the best photo is a year’s membership with photography company Wild Arena. The company provides a series of events and trips tailor made for keen snappers interested in wildlife and photography.
The competition will be judged by worldwide fashion and sports photographer Guy Farrow (www.guy-farrow.co.uk).
Submitted photos will be used to promote the LOVEmyBEACH campaign – working together to keep our local beaches and bathing waters clean.
You don’t have to live by the sea to make a difference – wherever you live, work, visit in the North West, please support LOVEmyBEACH.The winner will be announced in February 2014.
Guy said of the competition: “My kids love going to the beach at Blackpool! I can’t wait to see the entries as I just know there’ll be lots of great shots of the sea and beaches.
“We’re looking for really engaging photos where you can see the water and preferably people enjoying their time there.
“I know it’s winter but people are out there in all weathers and when the sky is blue and the sun is shining it’s great to be on the beach.”
