Blackpool is preparing to showcase itself on the world stage in an effort to attract more visitors.
Representatives from VisitBlackpool, the resort’s Destination Management Organisation, will join more than 5,000 other exhibitors from across the globe at the hugely respected World Travel Market (WTM) in early November.
The WTM is an annual four-day event held at London’s ExCel attracting exhibitors from 189 countries with 50,000 participants including domestic and international travel agents, tour operators and buyers.
And to ensure it gets as much as possible out of the event, VisitBlackpool is joining forces with Mamma Mia! at the WTM to promote the destination and the world’s most popular musical which is coming to the resort for a 10 week run next summer.
Marketing Blackpool Tourism Manager Mandy Tythe-McCallum said the WTM provides the ideal opportunity to show the world just how great Blackpool is.
Mandy said: “VisitBlackpool hasn’t had a presence at the World Travel Market for a number of years so we’re really pleased to be going this year.
“This represents a great opportunity to showcase Blackpool to so many key people and organisations in the world of travel and across the world.
“We will be launching Blackpool’s 2014 Destination Guide at the event and by linking up with Mamma Mia! it also gives us a chance to show how great the resort will be over the next 12 months and beyond.”
The World Travel Market will be held at London’s ExCel from November 4 – 7.
