Gary Lucy Goes The Full Monty at Blackpool Grand!

In 1997, a British film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers who had nothing to lose, took the world by storm and became one of the most successful British films ever made.

In September 2015 the boys return, kicking off a new autumn tour of The Full Monty live stage show at the Grand Theatre from Thursday 10 to Saturday 19 September.

Soap opera heart-throb Gary Lucy (EastEnders; The Bill, Hollyoaks) takes on the iconic role of Gaz, with support from Andrew Dunn (Dinnerladies, Coronation Street, Holby City) as Gerald, Louis Emerick (Brookside, Last of the Summer Wine) as Horse, Rupert Hill (Doctors, EastEnders, Holby City) as Guy, Martin Miller (Scott & Bailey, Primeval) as Dave and Bobby Schofield (Our World War, Doctors and Grange Hill) as Lomper.

Gary Lucy revives his performance of Gaz for the new autumn tour kicking off in Blackpool, which won high acclaim earlier this year. Andrew Dunn also returns to the Blackpool Grand after performing on stage here in April 2014 in the acclaimed production of Brassed Off.

Simon Beaufoy, the Oscar winning writer of the film, has gone all the way with this hilarious and heartfelt adaptation that’s getting standing ovations every night.

The Full Monty opened to rave reviews in Sheffield, has won the UK Theatre Award for Best Touring Production and has played to packed houses up and down the county. The production also features the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

The Full Monty is Simon Beaufoy’s first work for the theatre. His screen credits include winning the BAFTA for the original film version of The Full Monty, 127 Hours, Salmon Fishing in Yemen, Slumdog Millionaire and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
