Joan Armatrading MBE comes to the Blackpool’s Grand Theatre for one night only on Sunday 16 August, as part of her last ever major world tour.

Joan said of her final tour, “I will never retire but this will be the last major tour that I will undertake. For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar and piano and singing. I want these concerts to be a special lively interactive one-to-one experience. I have absolutely enjoyed the last 42 years of performances but now, with my final major tour, I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience.”

The three times Grammy-nominated, double Brit nominated and winner of a coveted Ivor Novello Award, singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading MBE has 20 stunning albums to her credit including her most recent album, Starlight, released in 2012. Joan’s subtle and sublime music which ranges from jazz, soul, Blues and pop, has touched millions of people all over the world.

Known as a true craftsman with her distinctive vocals and skilled musicianship – she has arranged as well as played nearly every instrument on the last three of her albums.

After 42 years this will be her last ever major tour, but also, rather unbelievably, her first ever solo world tour.

For almost two hours Joan will captivate the audience, performing highlights of the last four decades of her career, utilising various guitars (and playing techniques) and a piano.
