‘Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of’, a revealing new music documentary commemorating the 20th anniversary of the world’s biggest ever boy band, will be released at the OPERA HOUSE CINEMA on Thursday 26 February 2015, 7pm, with a live performance by the band broadcast by satellite and exclusive to cinemas.
An emotionally open and honest film portrait, ‘Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of’ explores the highs and lows from boyhood to manhood that led the group to a London studio in 2012 to write a new album, make a film and plan their 20th anniversary re-launch. The reunion renewed friendships, but dynamic shifts reveal new and old tensions that need confronting and resolving. This is a surprising and rewarding journey filmed over two years that delves into the extremes of fame and fortune, betrayal and renewal.
On Thursday 26 February at 7pm fans across the UK and Ireland will be able to see the film for the very first time and then watch an exclusive live performance by the band broadcast by satellite into the cinema. The band will perform some of their favourite tracks in this one-off event to celebrate the release of this highly anticipated 20th anniversary film.
‘We can’t wait to go back to UK to treat our fans to a very special BSB performance alongside showcasing our film that we are so very proud of. We think the Brits and everyone who comes out to see it will love it!,’ say the Backstreet Boys.
A Pulse Films and K-Bahn LLC film produced by Pulse Films and Missing In Action, ‘Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of’ is directed by Stephen Kijak (Stones in Exile, Scott Walker: 30 Century Man) and stars original group members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson, all of whom were producers on the film along with Mia Bays of Missing In Action Films.
The multiple award-winning and Grammy-nominated group has sold 130 million records worldwide and is recognised as the best-selling boy band in history. Not only have their first 9 albums all debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Top 100, but they have gone gold and platinum in 46 countries. In the UK the band has sold over 6 million records with 4 platinum records and 16 top 10 singles. The Backstreet Boys continue to be an essential figure in pop culture receiving a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.
