The Grand Theatre, Blackpool is pleased to announce the return of the hugely popular Solid Silver 60s Show which this year kicks off its landmark 30-date 30th anniversary tour in the seaside town!
For 2015 the show sees original Merseybeats star and Brian Epstein-mentored Billy J Kramer headline the bill, who announces his first UK dates in nearly two decades. To coincide with his performance, Kramer is also set to release a new autobiographical studio album, I Won The Fight – the Liverpudlian’s first new studio album in 30 years.
Speaking of his appearance in The Solid Silver 60s Show, Billy J Kramer said:
‘I’m delighted to be coming back to the UK with my band, The Rising. Having been touring in the US for quite a while, we have become like family. To be headlining the 30th year of The Solid Silver 60s, which also is my 50th year in the business, is a real privilege.’
Also confirmed for the bill is the original voice of The Searchers, Mike Pender (Sweets For My Sweet, Don’t Throw Your Love Away), Chris Farlowe (Handbags and Gladrags, Out Of Time) and P. P. Arnold (Angel Of The Morning, The First Cut Is The Deepest).
For this special anniversary tour, The Merseybeats (I Think Of You, Don’t Turn Around, Wishin’ And Hopin’), one of the Cavern Club’s original alumni who have performed with The Beatles and Gerry & The Pacemakers, will also take to the stage as special guests.
The Solid Silver 60s Show has hosted many of the greatest names from the era, with this 30th anniversary year proving to be the most spectacular line-up. Over one million people have seen the show since its first inception 30 years ago.
