Singers and Dancers Wanted!

Singer/Dancers wanted for brand new professional theatre show premiering this summer in Blackpool.

Smash Hits of the 70s & 80s is a spectacular new production which will be premiering at Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre this July and the show’s producers are searching for performers from the area to star in this musical extravaganza.

Parker and Snell Company have previously presented smash hit shows including Glee – Live on Stage and The Vagina Monologues and has worked with amazing actors including Jonas Armstrong (television’s Robin Hood), Lisa Riley, Jenna Coleman (Clara in Dr Who), Kym Marsh, Ben Hynes and William Ash (best known from Waterloo Road and Shameless).

This summer the company will open their new show Smash Hits of the 70s and 80s at the North Pier Theatre with three dates in July (Friday 4^th, Saturday 5^th and Friday 11^th) and will then return for Fridays and Saturdays, 3^rd, 4^th, 10^th, 11^th, 17^th and 18^th, in October.

Artistic Director Colin Snell, former Director of Drama at ArnoldSchool and the Grand Theatre’s Youth Theatre Company, said: “We are producing a high-octane, all-singing, all-dancing professional show specifically for the North Pier with proposed touring dates during the autumn and winter. It will be designed around the cast’s specific talents and iconic songs from the 70s and 80s, so it’s vitally important we have the right people joining us on our journey. Smash Hits of the 70s and 80s promises to be an exciting and colourful, non-stop evening of sheer fun!

“Having been connected professionally with Blackpool since 1998, I am aware of the wealth of talent there is in the area and it is a privilege to have the opportunity of showcasing it in such a prestigious venue. The creative team also includes London-based professional musical director Michael Webborn and choreographer Jodie-Lee Wilde so audiences can expect a top-notch show.”

Auditions are being held in Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre over three days next month; Sunday 8^th, Monday 9^th and Tuesday 10^th June. If you want to be part of Smash Hits of the 70s & 80s you must be 18 or over by 4^th July 2014 and be available for rehearsals (from 23^rd June to 3^rd July) and of course for all performance dates (4^th, 5^th, 11^th July; 3^rd, 4^th, 10^th, 11^th, 17^th and 18^th October).
