Houndshill Shopping Centre is proud sponsors of an amazing new Alice in Wonderland Illumination Tableau. The shopping centre recently ran a competition to give their shoppers the opportunity to win a once in a life time experience to switch-on the lights of ‘Alice’s Garden’.
Houndshill Shopping Centre is delighted to announce Donna Hannigan from Blackpool as the lucky winner of the amazing prize. Donna won this rare experience by tweeting @HoundshillSC to say who she would invite her own Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!
Donna Hannigan will take her family along to Alice’s Garden, located on the Cliffs section on the North Promenade, on Thursday 4th September and will switch the lights on at 8pm.
Alice’s Garden, co-designed by Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen and the in-house team draws on the story of Alice in Wonderlands and, in particular, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. The Tableau is a massive 100ft display that features a magical water garden and an 8ft bridge and is perfect for those exploring the illuminations on foot. Houndshill Shopping Centre Manager Debbs Lancelot said: “The Illuminations are essential for the success of Blackpool’s thriving tourism and retail industry and we are proud to be part of this fantastic event.”
Cllr Graham Cain, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, said: “I am absolutely delighted that the Houndshill Shopping Centre has sponsored this tableau. The support of local businesses is vital to ensure we can keep changing and improving our displays.
“I hope more businesses follow the lead of the Houndshill to support the lights and in turn the local economy.
“We know that visitors to the Illuminations like to get close to the features so we’ve created a bridge through the middle of the garden where people can stand and take photos.
“I’m sure it will be a very popular feature.”
