Things to do during Spring Half Term in Blackpool

Spring Half-Term is just around the corner and with that brings children uttering the dreaded words ‘I’m bored’.
Well fear not, as here in Blackpool we have a host of fun filled events for all the family to enjoy and to make things even easier we have compiled them into a handy list below.
1. Make your Move
Saturday 24th May
To celebrate Blackpool’s world famous Dance Festival there will be a spectacular FREE show in St John’s including showcase performances from the stars of Britain’s Got Talent including runner-up in 2011, dance sensation Razy Gogonea and the ‘Jacko meets the Bhangra cleaning’ finalists from 2008, Signature. As well as group dance lessons and demonstrations.
2. Harry the Hound Kids Club
Saturday 24th May
Join Harry the Hound in the Houndshill Shopping Centre, where he will be hosting a FREE event for children where they can get creative by designing their very own chef’s hat and pasta shape faces.
3. Alfresco
Sunday 25th May
Alfresco is a family-friendly festival, with music acts throughout the day and plenty of workshops for the children all included in one price. From jewellery making to 5 –aside football tournaments there is something for all the family.
4. High Jinx Magic and Illusion
Michael returns for another season in the Horseshoe at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, with a whole new show. This fast paced mix of magic, illusion, escapology, juggling and music- one of last year’s hit shows- is back with new illusions, magic and a few surprises.
5. Blackpool Tower Circus
Laugh out loud with Mooky and Mr Booo as they go on an adventure to the sunny hills of Hollywood. With astonishing acrobats, dare-devil stunts and hilarious comedy antics this is definitely one show not to be missed.
6. Meet your favourite characters
Find your favourite characters around resort this Bank Holiday weekend. From the Octonauts relaxing under the sea at SEA LIFE Blackpool to Dora and Diego braving some of Nickelodeon Lands top rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
7. Helicopter Hangar Open Day
Saturday 31st May
The Open Day is a great opportunity to explore a helicopter hangar and learn the history of the iconic helicopters (Huey 509-UH1H and Loach 011-0H6A, as well as see memorabilia of both aircraft and others plus view footage of the restoration process.
8. World Cup Warm Up
Saturday 31st May
Join in with a host of activities in St John’s to celebrate the up and coming summer of football. From human table football to freestyle football tricks, this is going to be a day of footy fun for all the family.
9. Stanley Park
What better way is there to spend a sunny day than lounging around in the park? There’s plenty of space for a spontaneous kick around or hire a pedal boat and take a trip round the lake.
