Junior and Princess Andre have bagged their first presenting job – hosting a fun kids’ guide to Britain’s favourite seaside resort.
The brother and sister duo have been signed up to front Blackpool Has it All, a huge new marketing campaign for 2016, designed to showcase the resort’s unrivalled family fun credentials.
Junior and Princess star in a series of colourful videos featuring them visiting some of Blackpool’s most popular attractions and providing a real child’s-eye-view of what’s on offer..
And the pair, both naturals in front of the cameras, absolutely loved their time as stars of the seafront.
Princess said: “Blackpool is amazing.”
And Junior agreed: “It’s so, so, so much fun”.
Junior and Princess, aged 11 and 9 respectively, rode on one of the resort’s trams during their stay and filmed videos at a host of big attractions including The Blackpool Tower Eye and 4D Experience, The Blackpool Tower Circus, SEA LIFE, Madame Tussauds, Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Waterpark and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
The three episode video series – called Princess & Junior’s Guide to Blackpool – follows Junior and Princess as they play with animals at Blackpool Zoo, ride a rollercoaster and waterslides, meet a full-sized Ninja Turtle and train to be a circus clown among lots of other activities. All three episodes along with a ‘best bits’ video will be hosted on the VisitBlackpool website.
The awesome two-some even climbed to the top of Blackpool Tower, despite Princess confessing that she’s “kind of scared of heights”. They also visited the incredible 4D cinema experience at the Blackpool Tower Eye as well as testing their mettle by walking on the breath-taking glass floor 180ft above the Promenade.
Then it was off to Blackpool Zoo where they got to watch how penguins feed under-water and were able to both pet the animals. They also came face-to-face with Nemo and Dory (and some sharks) at Blackpool’s SEA LIFE attraction.
Then it was on to Madame Tussauds, where they bumped into a life-size picture-perfect wax figure of their dad, Peter Andre, before visiting the rest of the town’s numerous attractions.
“It was very cool to see my dad’s wax figure – it was just like him,” said Junior. “The whole day was mind-blowing – so, so much fun.”
Blackpool Has It All is an evolution of the hugely successful ‘Blackpool’s Back’ campaign launched in 2014, which highlighted the resort’s amazing collection of world-renowned, family attraction brands and offers as if seen through the eyes of a child.
And this Summer, #Blackpoolhasitall will ramp things up even further – new and exclusive for 2016 include; Madame Tussauds’ brand new ‘Festival Fields’ attraction; the Silver Jubilee Circus Show at The Blackpool Tower Circus; and the 80th anniversary of the world renowned Hot Ice show at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Blackpool Has It All is a collaborative effort. Merlin Entertainments – which runs a host of attractions in the town including The Blackpool Tower, Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE – together with VisitBlackpool, the tourism arm of the council, and supported by other key resort players are all investing for the third year running.
Kate Shane, Head of the Blackpool Cluster for Merlin Entertainments, said: “Now we’ve successfully shown that Blackpool is definitely back, we’re ready to show that Blackpool has it all too. There are lots of exciting developments this time around to encourage even more parents to come and share their own childhood memories, or create new ones together.”
