The Imperial Hotel Blackpool is thrilled to announce that afternoon tea service has resumed at the hotel with a refreshed menu.
Is there anything as quintessentially British? Afternoon tea has seen an enormous revival in recent years, in part due to the popularity of the Great British Bake Off and the move as a society towards pursuing more mindful activity.
The hotel’s team are so excited to launch afternoon tea with its new additions as this treasured pastime returns, which costs £17.50 for adults and £10.00 for children.
Afternoon tea is typically served in the delightful Palm Court restaurant - a stately Victorian gem full of grandeur and opulence. Boasting wonderful sea views, guests can soak in the scenery while enjoying a much needed catch-up and a fantastic cuppa.
Alison Gilmore, General Manager, says: “We’re pleased as punch to be able to offer this popular experience again to our wonderful guests. Lots of us have spent the last few months cooped up, so it’s been a long time since we’ve taken the opportunity to sit down and savour some tea, cake and company. Ruth our wonderful pastry chef has come up with some delicious treats that you’ll savour every moment of.”
At the Imperial, you aren’t just offered a pot of tea and a bit of cake; the experience is composed of many delicious elements (both savoury and sweet!) that you’ll love. The new menu includes the following savoury options: a small cup of homemade soup of the day, a flaky sausage roll with thyme and apricot a cheese tart with sun blush tomato, pesto and roquette.
You’ll also receive four finger sandwiches each that are delicate and tasty on soft bread as well as a warm and buttery Lancashire cheese scone.
The sweet elements of afternoon tea are bite-sized delights which have been lovingly prepared to really showcase the talents of our pastry chef and to really tantalise the palette.
These include, a fruit scone with clotted cream and strawberry preserve as well as a raspberry and white chocolate profiterole, our traditional Imperial chocolate brownie with toasted marshmallow, a piece of carrot cake with cream cheese and some rich chocolate and honeycomb mousse.
The price of the afternoon tea includes your choice of English breakfast tea, a selection of speciality teas or freshly brewed coffee, but if you want a little more drama in your afternoon tea, we can include some fizz!
. . . All you need to do is to turn up and decide whether you’re jam first or cream first!
Afternoon tea is served daily from 14:30 - 16:00.
