Blackpool Transport are introducing better value bus fares from Sunday 9 August, meaning most customers will pay less to travel by bus or tram.
To make it easier and cheaper for visitors to travel by bus or tram, Blackpool Transport are reducing the price of all adult travel tickets.
Travelling by bus in Blackpool will cost just £1.90 or £2.40 per trip, making it easier for customers to know the cost of their journey before travelling.
Tram customers will benefit from a £2.10 flat fare for any journey, meaning journeys between Starr Gate and Fleetwood will cost 80 pence less than they normally would.
Jane Cole, Managing Director at Blackpool Transport said “It’s important for us that we make travelling by bus and tram as easy as possible. We’re welcoming many of our customers back to our services and by providing great value tickets we hope to encourage more people to use our environmentally friendly bus and tram network.”
“We’re also making travel cheaper for young people, with customers aged 16-21 now able to benefit from reduced price tickets. Children’s tickets will stay at the same great value too!”
“We’re probably the only bus or tram company in the UK to have reduced our prices following the COVID emergency. We care about our town and we want to do everything we can to help restart Blackpool’s economy.”
For regular public transport users, Blackpool Transport’s adult saver ticket prices are also reducing in price, making it possible to travel anywhere on the Fylde Coast and as far as Preston from just £1.80 per day.
Blackpool Transport offered a special reduced price fare of £1.50 for key workers needing to travel during lockdown and this initiative will end on Saturday 8 August.
