Stray, the classic British rock band, head out on a UK tour this autumn . . .
Led by guitarist Del Bromham, Stray are delighting fans with a new set up including Simon Rinaldo from Pearl Handled Revolver on Keyboards and Colin Kempster on bass. With original member Pete Dyer and drummer Karl Randall the band have a new lease of life and a great stage show to go with it!
For many years Del Bromham has been overlooked by the main stream press and perhaps the Encyclopedia of Popular Music sums it up:
"The first wave of heavy guitar idols were usually Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. Del Bromham’s past work should be reappraised as he clearly slipped through the net.”
Since their self titled debut album release in 1970, Stray have worked their up and down the country and around the world. Indeed their last album was recorded live at the legendary Fever Club in Tokyo. Tours with Iron Maiden, Kiss and Rush have helped their profile but they never seemed to cross that hurdle into the really big time.
In a career that has seen both highs and lows, recently Del was honoured with a British Blues Lifetime achievement award, personal tragedy has played it’s part too. His latest solo album ‘Blue Feather’ has received outstanding critical acclaim.
Stray will be appearing at The Waterloo Music Bar on Wednesday, 9 October.
One of the most underrated guitarists of the modern era, Del Bromham is also a great front man and a prodigious song writer. The Encyclopedia of Popular Music rates him as highly as Clapton, Page and Beck. He’s celebrating over 50 years on the boards with a special double helping that draws from his extensive back catalogue, as well as his best ever solo album called 'White Feather'.
Stray are one of the great British hard rock bands and continue to impress with festival appearances at The Cambridge Rock Festival, Hard Rock Hell, The New Day Festival, The Giants Of Rock Festival in Minehead and The Great British Rock & Blues Festival in Skegness.
Stray are back and coming your way!
